Windchimes

Return to Rescued Glass Gallery

To make our windchimes we gather used bottles, clean them and remove the paper labels. The bottles are cut on a saw and the exposed edge lightly sanded to remove the sharpe edge. Then the inside striker is made for each particular bottle using odds and ends of scrap glass from the studio. Rings are fused into the striker or holes drilled, so that hangers can be attached. Melted bottle pieces are used for the clapper. Once all the pieces are ready then the windchimes are assembled by hand using galvanized wire to help reduce rust.

If you see a design or bottle you would like to purchase, please contact us. Most of our rescued glass bottle windchimes are one of a kind but we can come close to reproducing most of what you see. If you are interested in having your bottle turned into a windchime, please contact us for a price quote.

*Because the bottles we use are recycled bottles some may show signs of wear and slight imperfections*.
