tuck box house The Tuck Box House is a window I made based on the Tuck Box House Restaurant in Carmel California. The building was built in 1927 by famed architect Hugh Comstock. He actually built a number of these enchanting cottages at Carmel by the sea in the 1920's and 30's. He was known for using local materials in the contruction of his cottages.

To capture the unique attributes of the building I used kiln formed details. I made special glass for the roof and special "pattern bars" to simulate the stacked stone chimney and wall. Glass fusing was also used for the flowers, flower boxes, the tree behind the building and the cheery window awning. The ivy border adds to the wimsy of the window
