We arrived at Yellowstone late in the day. Because it was rather late in the day we decided to find a hotel in West Yellowstone and then go back into the park the next morning.
When we awoke the next morning the weather had turned gray and gloomy and it had started to snow. Since we happen to be ridding a motorcycle we decided that we would head for home.
We rode for a little ways and decided to pull off the road at a small gas station/store and see if the snow storm would pass. I decided to put on more clothes and when I came out of the bathroom it was actually snowing harder. The snow was suppose to keep up for the next 3 days so we decided to just get back on the bike and try to get to a lower elevation before it got too bad.
What an adventure! Riding motorcycles is always a little precarious but to ride in the snow was a entirely new experience. We had to stop often to scrape snow from the windshield so my husband could see.
We did finally get out of the snow after about an hour. We arrived in Idaho Falls cold and hungry but excited that we had been up to the challenge. We stopped, had lunch and planned the rest of our trip. We decided to take highway 20 across southern Idaho.
The weather had turned sunny. The sky was very blue with a few white puffy clouds. There were many amber fields and then there was the Sawtooth mountains we could see in the distance.
This piece was made to capture the memory of that exciting adventure and day on the road.
