This piece was created as a prototype for the Dallas Rotary Car Show. In July the Dallas Oregon Rotary sponsers a car show. They asked me to create an art glass piece that they could use as a trophy for the show. The glass disk is mounted in a wooden base created from myrtlewood. The bases are made by a local artisan.
Myrtlewood is a native plant that grows along the southern Oregon coast. Though it is called a tree it looks more like a bush. Oregon and the Holy Lands are two of the few places this plant grows.
